Women's rights in saudi arabia
Although women’s rights have improved in the US, the same cannot be said for places like Saudi Arabia. Women have yet to be given the right to drive. There is also a strict mandatory dress code for all women that prohibits women from the freedom to wear what they want and it also bans the use of make-up. It also frowned upon for women to interact with men who aren’t a part of their family. Political office and voting rights weren’t given to women until 2015.
Pools that men swim in are not available for women and it has also been proposed that women shouldn’t be allowed to compete in the Olympics. Even when there are female athletes, they are accompanied by a male guardian. But perhaps one of the most discriminatory rules is that women aren’t allowed to try on clothing in dressing rooms when shopping. The justification for this law is that the thought of a woman undressing may be “too much” for a man to handle. The 21st century has seen new standards for both genders but it certainly has not reached everyone.
